October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month across the globe, and Transforming Breast Cancer Together (TBCT), a unique multi-stakeholder organisation dedicated to improving outcomes for breast cancer patients, survivors, and their families across the European Union (EU), remains honoured to be a part of the fight against breast cancer, uplifting the voices of patients, healthcare professionals, and industry leaders in the oncology space.
TBCT reaffirms its steadfast commitment to increasing awareness of breast cancer by publishing 7 infographics on breast cancer inequalities in the European Union during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These infographics highlight key data on breast cancer and best practices in Sweden, Estonia, Bulgaria, France, Poland, and Italy, alongside outlining the overarching EU-level state of play.
TBCT believes that more must be done to allow each breast cancer patient to receive the right treatment at the right time, as well as to access timely and effective prevention, testing and screening programs. Treating breast cancer at an early stage gives patients the best chance of managing the disease. To achieve this, TBCT calls on EU policymakers to work together to ensure the implementation of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and that breast cancer inequalities among Member States are tackled during the new mandate!
No patient should be left behind.
TBCT encourages everyone to take time to learn more about the disease that impacts 1 in 11 women before the age of 74 across the EU. By deepening our understanding of the disease and disparities in Europe regarding breast cancer prevention, testing, screening strategies, and treatment options, we can identify and address the gaps to ensure that all European patients benefit from the same care.
